With reference to my official correspondence with you on the subject of the charges preferred by the Hon. F. B. Johnson, and with special reference to my paper of observations, dated 27th December 1881, which you have hitherto left unacknowledged, I have now the honour to forward to you copies of some correspondence which has lately ensued on the subject and which it has now become necessary to place officially on record.
2. I enclose, in the first instance, copy of a letter I addressed to his Excellency the Governor 9th December 1881, when forwarding to him a bill for $300 for law costs in the case of Hayllar v. Eitel, which the Governor had previously promised to pay. His Excellency kept the bill but gave me no reply to the letter.
3. I also enclose copy of a letter (and enclosure) I forwarded to his Excellency the Governor
